Embalando Melodias — Cradling Melodies — is the clearest statement of Ulisses' theme: music as object. Within an arched, vessel-like outline, dozens of reed-like elements hang in rows — a chorus of keys or quills held mid-note. The earliest of his works here (2018), it reads as instrument, reliquary and score at once.
