From the Reflexos series that defined her voice, this 2005 watercolour distils a face to its emotional core: features surfacing through pools of burgundy and rose, at once portrait and apparition. Suzy Bila lets water do half the work — blooms, bleeds and dry edges become skin, shadow, memory. The result holds the fragility of the medium and none of its timidity.
Sold unframed unless otherwise stated. Bidding 23 October – 5 November 2026; on 5 November lots close sequentially from 14:30 GMT. Viewing at the Leilosoc Art Gallery, Praça Conde de Agralongo, Braga, from the public opening on 23 October: Tuesday to Friday 14:30–19:30 and Saturday 10:30–18:30 (closed Sunday and Monday).
